Aboriginal Performances for Corporate, Government & Public Events

Aboriginal Cultural Immersions provides authentic Aboriginal performance bookings across Australia, delivering culturally led Indigenous performances with our CEO starting in Lightning Ridge NSW in 1996. In 2006 we provide authentic experiences in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and regional capitals across Australia.

Our performances are delivered by Traditional Owners, Indigenous songmen and women, elite didgeridoo players, and professional Aboriginal dancers, ensuring cultural authority, authenticity, and respect. Each performance is grounded in living culture and tailored to suit the purpose, audience, and location of your event.

If you are seeking a Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony, didgeridoo performance, corroboree dance troupe, or complete Aboriginal cultural performance, we provide professional, culturally safe solutions trusted by organisations nationwide.

What Is an Aboriginal Performance?

What is an Aboriginal Performance?
An Aboriginal performance is a cultural expression of Country, story, ceremony, and identity, shared through music, song, movement, and ritual. These performances are not theatrical recreations; they are living cultural practices passed down through generations.

Aboriginal performances may include:

Welcome to Country by a Traditional Owner
Smoking Ceremonies using native eucalyptus plants
Didgeridoo and clapstick music
Language songs led by Indigenous songmen and women
Traditional corroboree dance
Contemporary Indigenous dance and choreography

Each element carries cultural meaning and is delivered with permission, authority, and respect.

Aboriginal Performance Services We Offer

Welcome to Country Ceremonies

A Welcome to Country is delivered by a recognised Traditional Owner and formally welcomes people onto Aboriginal land. It acknowledges the ancestors, the land, and the continuing custodianship of Country.

Welcome to Country ceremonies are commonly booked for:

Corporate conferences and openings
Government and council events
Public ceremonies and launches
Major cultural and civic gatherings

This ceremony can be delivered on its own or combined with a Smoking Ceremony and performance.

Smoking Ceremony for Events

A Smoking Ceremony is a traditional Aboriginal ritual used to cleanse a space, protect participants, and invite positive energy. Smoke from native eucalyptus trees is carried through the area and often among the audience.

Our Smoking Ceremonies are frequently accompanied by: Didgeridoo, Indigenous language songs and cultural explanation for audiences.

This creates an immersive and respectful cultural experience suitable for corporate, government, and community events.

Didgeridoo (Yidaki) Performances

The unique Australian Aboriginal musical instrument commonly known as the Didgeridoo is, in fact, called a Yidaki.

We work with some of the world’s finest didgeridoo players, offering solo and integrated didgeridoo performances that are powerful, grounding, and memorable.

Didgeridoo performances are suitable for:
Corporate events
Conferences and exhibitions
Schools and universities
Cultural and community gatherings

Performances may include explanation of the instrument’s cultural significance, breathing techniques, and storytelling.

Traditional Corroboree Dance Performances

Traditional corroboree performances bring together Indigenous dancers, songmen or songwomen, didgeridoo, and clapsticks to present ancient storylines through movement and song.

Dancers perform traditional movements representing animals, landscapes, journeys, and ancestral law. Body paint and regalia are culturally appropriate and specific to the performance context.

Corroboree performances are ideal for:
Festivals and large events
Schools and education programs
Tourism and international audiences
NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week

Contemporary Indigenous Dance Performances

Contemporary Indigenous dance blends traditional knowledge with modern choreography and dance styles. These performances reflect Aboriginal identity today while remaining deeply connected to culture and Country.

They are especially effective for:

Corporate and arts events
Youth and education audiences
Modern cultural programs.

Immersion #1: Complete Aboriginal Cultural Performance

Immersion #1 is our most popular Aboriginal performance package and is designed to create a fully immersive cultural experience.

The performance begins with a Welcome to Country delivered by a Traditional Owner, establishing respect and cultural protocol. This is followed by a Smoking Ceremony that moves through the audience, cleansing the space and creating a shared cultural connection.

An Indigenous songman and didgeridoo master accompanies the ceremony, guiding the audience toward the performance space. As the sound builds, the full corroboree begins. Traditional dancers enter, performing ancient movements to traditional songs, creating a powerful and unforgettable Aboriginal performance experience.

This package is ideal for:
Major corporate events
Government ceremonies
Conferences and international delegations
Cultural celebrations and public events

National Sorry Day 2026

May 26th 2026 - We remember and acknowledge the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as ‘The Stolen Generations’.

National Sorry Day is a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations Survivors and reflect on how we can all share in the healing process.

National Reconciliation Week

The National Reconciliation Week starts on the 27th May and runs to the 3rd of June 2026.

The 2026 theme, All In, makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport, and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.

The theme also reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights isn’t a passive activity, and it is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people, who have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for far too long.

NAIDOC Week 2026

The 2026 National NAIDOC Week theme is '50 Years Deadly'

Held across Australia between July 5th and 12th, 2026, Australians have the opportunity to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in Indigenous activities.

50 Years of Deadly marks five decades of strength, culture, and community leadership. NAIDOC themes have honoured Elders, honoured creativity, and amplified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices,  capturing where our people have been and where Australia must continue to listen.
